Hi I'm Laura

I love reading books! I enjoy playing with my kids. I am not a morning person...but I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay at home mom and have three beautiful girls. My husband is my dearest friend who brings humor to my life. I spent many years of our marriage taking college courses here and there. Last year I graduated from the local university. Down the road I plan to tutor, teach or write books. I love playing the piano, writing music, and reading clean and witty books. My girls and I love musicals and my husband puts up with them. My family likes to hide surprise notes and pictures for each other. It's a simple thing, but it makes our family stronger. I have always wanted a large family. My husband and I discovered that each child is a dear blessing after enduring three difficult pregnancies and months and months of bedrest. Thankfully, all of our children arrived safely and are healthy little stinkers. We are so grateful for them.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that all LDS people, in a way, are converts to the church regardless of their circumstances. No matter the influence of their families and communities, all must learn for themselves and gain their own testimonies to truly become "Mormons". This is my story... One evening, as a youth, I read the promise of Moroni which challenges readers to ask God if the book is true or untrue. I knelt down at my bedside and asked God through prayer. Following this, my body was filled with a warm sensation and I knew that He answered my prayer and that the Book of Mormon is true. I began reading it more and more and noticed that I was happier and more capable of handling life's challenges when I searched the contents of this sacred book. That night I gained a testimony that one: The Book of Mormon is true, and two: God hears and answers our prayers.

How I live my faith

There is a family in my community that is teaching me American Sign Language. I am training to be an interpreter and have grown to truly love and admire this family, as well as the Deaf community. I am studying the American Sign Language version of The Book of Mormon and this is helping me learn the language.
