Hi I'm Roy

I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Southern California and loved the beach and fishing. I love rock collecting, gardening and grand kids.

Why I am a Mormon

After graduation from high school I joined the U.S. Coast Guard and was stationed at Treasure Island in the San Francisco Bay. I went to many different churches but never found any that could satisfy my needs or questions. I was at the end of looking for the real Church in my life when I came back to the ship early one night. There was a young fellow reading the Bible in his bunk. He ask me if I would like to come to a meeting with him in Berkley about his Church. Next day in Berkley I saw the movie Christ in America. In high school I remembered that Cortez landed in the Americas and the Indians thought he was the great white bearded God to return. They gave me the Book of Mormon and as I read and ask God the Holy Spirit confirmed to me that it was true and I was baptized January 1967 at age 21.

How I live my faith

As a result of my baptism and the change in my life, three other shipmates joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have been a missionary by talking to people that will listen and not have a closed mind. The "Mormon" Church has brought me closer to my Heavenly Father and his only begotten Son Jesus Christ then any other Church. It has changed my life and gave me the Faith and Determination to KNOW that God and his Son Jesus Christ live and love you.
