Hi I'm Jessica 'ERin' Quist

I'm a Mormon. I was born in Utah then moved to Arizona when I was 10. I didn't start going to church until I was 12.

About Me

I am a mother and a wife. I have two children a boy (3 years old) and a girl (4 months old). I like doing LOTS of things. It stems from my love of learning and my love of doing things with my hands. I Like: Music I play the violin write poetry write stories crochet cook draw organize movies reading setting goals anime computer games sudoku SEWING above all I like to learn so my list of likes grows and grows...

Why I am a Mormon

I don't know if you could call me a 'UTAH' mormon because I hardly ever went to church in Utah. Both my mom and dad grew up in the church. My mom stopped going to church when she was about 14 years old and my dad stopped going sometime after he served a mission. Living in Utah I was always surrounded by the church's influence and people but I never really understood what it was about. I always knew that I had a Father in Heaven and I knew how to pray, but as for everything else I had no ides. I remember when I was 9, my mother called me from the basement and asked me if I wanted to take the missionary discussions and I said, "sure" So I was baptized. It wasn't until our family moved to Arizona that we (as a family) started to go to church. Just gong to church every week helped to strengthen my small testimony of God and it's only been uphill from their. In the Sermon on the Mount Jesus says those who 'hunger' after righteousness would be filled. And I was filled. Going to seminary in high school, reading my scriptures, praying daily. I felt the truthfulness of the gospel. In 2005 my family went to the Salt Lake Temple and was sealed together forever. In 2007 I found a companion that I could marry and live out the rest of eternity with. We were married in the Mesa Temple. I guess why I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is because I have felt it is true by living by the church's standards. I have found happiness and safety. I have felt Gods love and I have prayed to him to know it is true. I love my church. I know God lives, Christ is my Savior, and that this is HIS church.

How I live my faith

I live my life by the precepts of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I try and keep HIS commandments. The only way I could consistently live the standards of the church, which are really the standards of God, is by praying morning, noon, and night and by reading the Scriptures. Bible and Book of Mormon. I am NOT perfect. Absolutely not. But I just want to be a good person and to teach my children to be good people. I have found so much goodness in the church and whether it's true or not (which I believe its true) I have lived a good life and would say that I haven't lacked anything.
