Hi I'm Nate

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband and father of 2 adorable little girls. We love watching college football, riding our bikes, exploring the outdoors, and perfecting our homemade pizza recipe. I have a degree in Information Systems Management which is perfect since I enjoy business and technology. By day, I have my dream job doing data warehousing and business intelligence analysis. I get to work with data, identify business trends, and help the business make good, data-driven decisions. Super fun stuff!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Over the years I have gained my own knowledge that this truly is the true Church of Jesus Christ. I haven't lived a perfect life. I have made bad decisions and have hurt some people along the way. I'm still working on repairing those things and that's why I'm glad I'm a Mormon. As I work on improving my life by living the commandments of God and following the teachings of modern Prophets and Apostles, I find my life to be much happier and fulfilling. Being a Mormon has brought meaning and purpose to my life.

How I live my faith

I try to live an honest and balanced life. I try to work hard at my job and become an expert in my field. Likewise, I try to work hard at home by spending meaningful time with my wife and kids. I also try to volunteer my time at church. Sometimes I teach lessons, maintain records, plan activities, help people move, etc. I have found that by being less concerned about myself and more concerned about others, that I'm happier, nicer, and much more successful in life.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Absolutely. The Holy Bible contains fundamental teachings and doctrines about God our Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ. The Old Testament teaches of God's creation and interaction with His children in ancient times. It is where we learn of God's commandments, His priesthood authority and power, the covenants/promises he made with Abraham, Isaac, & Jacob and their posterity, and how He saved the children of Israel and brought them to the promised land. Most importantly, the New Testament is the record of Christ's mortal ministry and redeeming atonement - the selfless and perfect act of "laying down his life for his friends." Those pages contain many details of the Savior's life and teachings found nowhere else. It has transcended time to become the most read, loved, treasured, and followed book on earth. Likewise, we believe the Book of Mormon to be another testament of Jesus Christ from people on the American continent. The Book of Mormon does not contradict the Bible in any way. It simply supports it and provides deeper knowledge about Christ and His gospel. Ultimately, we read and teach from both the Bible and the Book of Mormon and regard them as Holy Scripture and the word of God. Show more Show less
