Hi I'm Kye

Musician, Adventurist, Entrepreneur and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Kye and I enjoy just about everything. I like to open myself to many wholesome activities to experience life to the fullest. I love writing and playing music, filming and editing short films, shooting photography, and traveling. I love working with youth and helping them become aware of the dangers of the world and changes of society. I have worked as a Boy Scout Counselor where I taught Sailing and BSA Lifeguard. Also, as a counselor I helped youth find their dreams and passions and helped them in pursuing them. I now find myself pursuing my dreams as a Musician and Short-Film Writer and Director.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the LDS faith where as a boy I learned and lived off the testimony of my parents. However, there comes a time in everyone's life where they must leave home. This is where my faith and personal testimony where tested. I came to realize that my testimony was weak and that the pressures of the world were stronger. Sadly, I fell away from the church for a time and got involved into the wrong crowds. For a time I was living 2 lives, one when I was with family and close friends and another when I was out with 'my friends.' This became very exhausting and I found myself at the end of my rope. But I found a way back through a loving bishop and family members, but more importantly through the eternal atoning sacrifice of my older brother, Jesus Christ. I have since served a Spanish speaking mission and have seen the way that this gospel touches lives, especially in families. I have seen more of these blessings in my personal life and personal relationships with my family members. I know that these blessings only came from returning and being a faithful member of this everlasting and true gospel, that has been restored for us in these latter days. I am so grateful that my Heavenly Father never gave up on me and at the I had a way 'home' both physically and spiritually.

How I live my faith

I like to be involved in the community. The world's morals and standards have significantly dropped in the past few years that I feel it necessary to be an example. Because of my mother's job, I am allowed to work closely with our park district to help promote healthy and wholesome activities to the youth and families. I also enjoy working with the youth. I help them to become aware of the many situations and snares that Satan has planned for us to fall in if we are not careful. I relate gospel teachings and LDS standards to their lives so they can see how all of these things are blessing in our lives and are here to protect us. My end goal is trying to prevent the youth from making some of the mistakes that I made.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Kye
We do not worship Joseph Smith. We do however acknowledge him as the person who restored Christ's church and priesthood in these latter days and as the 1st Prophet in this dispensation. As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints we worship God our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
