Hi I'm Aubrey

I'm a storm-lover. I'm an avid storyteller. I'm living in Brazil for 18 months as a missionary. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! I'm Aubrey. I am the oldest of six kids, and I absolutely love spending time with my family. Each of us is so unique, yet we get along so well together! I have been blessed with wonderful parents who have taught me about the gospel since I was very young and made me the person I am today. As for my hobbies, I love to dance, and I play piano and flute. I also love doing anything in the outdoors, and traveling is one of my biggest hopes for the future. I work hard in school, and I enjoy learning about a great variety of things. I also enjoy meeting lots of new people, especially people that are different from me. I think that these are the people that can teach you the most in life. If it wasn't already clear, one of the things that I cherish most in life is variety. I also am very thankful for all the small and simple things that make life beautiful, like the sound of someone's laugh or a beautiful day.

Why I am a Mormon

The church has been a huge part of my life since I was very young since both my parents have been members their entire lives. There was never one huge event that convinced me of the truthfullness of this religion, but there have been many small experiences that make up the testimony that I have today. I know beyond any shadow of a doubt that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. It was restored to the earth by Joseph Smith, a prophet that was called of God to do this work. He did see the Father and the Son, and the Book of Mormon which he translated is the word of God. Reading this book will change your life, and in its pages you will find lessons that can be applied to you and your life. If you have questions or problems, whatever they may be, you can find the answers in the Book of Mormon. I know that we have a prophet on the earth today, and his name is President Thomas S. Monson. He receives revelation from God to guide and protect us, and by following his words we are following the Savior. I know that Jesus Christ lives, that He suffered and died for each and every one of us that we might live again with our Father in Heaven. He understands every pain and sorrow we will ever face, and He can heal us and give us peace. Through Christ's suffering, we can be forgiven of our sins if we go to God with humility and a sincere desire to change. I have such a strong testimony that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ know each of us individually. They know our hearts, our strengths, our weaknesses, and our struggles, and they can help us to get through this life if we are obedient to their commandments. The temple is a house of God, and within it we can be sealed to our families for eternity. I know that this church can bring a person more true happiness than anything else, and it will save their souls in the next life. I hope that one day everyone will have the chance to experience the joy of the gospel that I have been so blessed to have in my life.

How I live my faith

For the past several years, I have hoped that I would get the opportunity to serve a mission, and now that dream is coming true! I will be going to Brazil for 18 months to spread the message of the Savior. Doing so requires a good deal of sacrifice on my part. I will be in an unfamiliar place, speaking a language I haven't learned yet, and I will be far from home and people that I love. However, I know that God loves His children, all of them, and He wants them to hear the message of the restored church. I have faith that He will bless and protect me in my efforts, and I know that I can be used as an instrument in His hands. I have been so richly blessed in my life, and although I could never repay God for all that He has given me, I can give a year and a half of my life to Him. I'm so excited for the experiences I will have, experiences that will bless my life and the lives of others.
