Hi I'm Damon De La Pena

I was raised on a small farm in Arlington, AZ and work for an international consulting firm. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I had the opportunity to served a mission in Seattle Washington. I attended Arizona State University where I met my beautiful wife. We were sealed for time and eternity in the Mesa Arizona Temple and have been married for over twenty years. We have four wonderful kids two boys and two daughters. My education has allowed me to live in Southeast Asia and in Latin America and travel the world with my family. I currently work for an international consulting firm in their Supply Chain Practice. I love spending time with my wife. I enjoy the outdoors and travel. I hike, camp and backpack and love to adventure travel. I have hiked the Inca Trail in Peru; traveled to Everest basecamp in Nepal; and this next summer plan to Summit Mt Rainer with my friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a part member family. My father was not a member and my mother was not active. I had a loving grandmother who lived our faith and continued to be a role model and example to me of our pioneer heritage. One of my ancestors died on the plains during early church persecution and it is through one of her daughters that my lineage has been derived. I have ways appreciated my pioneer heritage. Their testimony of sacrifice in journals and commitment to our Savior Jesus Christ has always strengthened me. I read the Book of Mormon in High School and gained a personal testimony of its truth and taught about its truths as a full time missionary. I have personally felt the love that my Savior and my Heavenly Father has for me throughout all the phases of my life. This testimony has carried me through all of the trials and difficulties on this journey of life. Trials have included deaths in the family, loss of jobs, business failures, challenges with family members, challenges of raising children and providing for my family. But through each trial I have never been alone and have grown into a better disciple of Jesus Christ because of my faith.

How I live my faith

I am an active member of the Cortina First Ward in Queen Creek Arizona. I currently teach the gospel each month to my fellow ward members and serve where I am asked.
