Hi I'm Marcelle

I'm a mother. I'm an artist. I'm a triathlete. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife and mother to one son. I studied painting/drawing in college and continue to pursue my creative interests. I love painting, photography, decorating, and cooking. I also love the outdoors and am active in running, biking, swimming, skiing, and hiking.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family where both of my parents were members of the church and I was raised in the church. My parents were great examples to me of how to follow Christ throughout my life. There was never a specific time in my life that I questioned whether or not the church was true. I knew it was true. I have read the Book of Mormon at least 12 times--each time I finish reading it, I write the date down in the front of my book to keep track. At the end of the book, the prophet Moroni says, "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God...if these things are not true...he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost " (Moroni 9:4). Whenever I get to that point in the book, an amazing feeling comes over me and I KNOW that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that I am a member of the true church on the earth today.

How I live my faith

On a trip to Thailand, my husband and I attended the church there. Only a handful of people were in attendance. Even though I could not speak the language, I knew I was with others who believed the exact same things I did. We were all at church because we love our Savior, Jesus Christ. All of them smiled at me, shook my hand, or gave me a hug. No matter where you are in the world, you can associate with other members of the church and I love that! Every Sunday I attend church with my family. My husband and I teach a class to the 9 year-olds. Attending church is very important to us, but as members of the church we live what we believe everyday of our lives. We strive to be honest with others in all that we do, we serve those who may need help, we remember the reasons we are here on earth, and we look to the future with optimism. I am happy because I live what I believe!
