Hi I'm Yuri

I grew up in Japan. I am a mom, a student, and a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised by wonderful parents in Japan. I visit them every summer with my children. Although my parents are not Mormon, I would not have been a Mormon without them.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon church!) when I was teenager. I saw many happy and kind people at church and simply wanted to have the joy they had. In the beginning, I couldn't tell much of a difference in my life and I was a little disappointed, but when I decided to apply all the teachings of Jesus Christ, which I learned at the church, I truly became happy.

How I live my faith

Our church encourages people to obtain an education. I never thought about going back to school before since my children were younger but with my husband's encouragement I became a part time student at a local community college. When my children are at their school, I go to college and do homework until they come home. Now, my children ask me if I have finished my homework, and I feel more related to my teenagers. I love being a member of this church since I learn nothing but good teachings that enrich my life and the lives of other people.
