Hi I'm Naomi

I grew up in Arizona. I love American Sign Language. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello everyone! (: Let me introduce myself. My name is Naomi and I am the youngest of 8 kids. Now that may seem like a lot and a tad bit overwhelming, but I absolutely love it. I would never wish for a family any smaller than the one that I have. It has taught me to share, work, have respect, and be responsible. I have ;earned that it is not always about me and I can't always have it my way, and so many other life lessons that seem to be disappearing in today's society. My 6 nieces and 6 nephews are my pride and joy. (: I cannot even fathom a life with out them. It would be no life at all! As for my hobbies....I love to sketch, paint, read, sign, dance, and spend time with my friends and family. (:I intend to go to school to become a Deaf Interpreter. I find the language so beautiful and I absolutely love the Deaf culture! (:

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Latter Day Saint, or "Mormon" for several reasons. First let me explain to you that it was a personal decision. I had to search, ponder, and pray about the Book of Mormon. However, I could not just pray to know if the principles the LDS Church were true. I had to LIVE them first. I found myself much happier as I strove to keep the commandments, and follow the council of the latter day prophets and apostles. I read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know if it was true. I had to do the work. I had to be willing to put my trust in the Lord and live as He taught us to within the pages of the Bible and the Book of Mormon. Yes, I had to make sacrifices. God never said it would be easy. He just said it would be worth it. And it is. (: Another reason I was drawn to this church was the teaching of the Plan of Happiness. I have learned that Christ, my Savior and Redeemer, has done so much for me. (and for you too) I realized that His atonement is for everyone, including myself. He suffered for me. He hung on the cross... bruised, broken, and torn for me. Suffering for the sins and sorrows of the world. I know that through His atonement, I can repent of my sins and return to my Father in heaven and live with Him again. I know that Christ not only suffered for our sins, but He broke the bands of death so that I can be with my family for eternity. I am so glad that I will never have to say goodbye forever to my family and loved ones that have and will passed on. I excited that I can someday be sealed to my future husband for time and all eternity; that we will not have to part after death. I know without a shadow of a doubt that this church is true and that it was restored to the Earth through the prophet, Joseph Smith. I know that Joseph Smith saw God, the Eternal Father, and His son, Jesus Christ. I know that we have a prophet and apostles of God here today. I know that Christ knows each and every one of us individually and that he loves us. (:

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to church every Sunday to partake of the sacrament and renew my covenants, and to worship my God. When I was a high school student attended seminary Monday through Friday. Seminary is a class where we study the scriptures and learn about God the Father and His son Jesus Christ, and principles of the gospel. I would go to feel the spirit and feel peace. It was so nice to get away from the hectic high school and devote one hour, through seminary, to the Lord. I devote one night a week to do service for others such as hosting clothing drives or serving food to the homeless. We believe as it says in Matthew 25:40 "When ye have done it unto the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." In addition to the activities I participate in, I just try to live my life as God would want me to do. I try my very hardest to follow the teachings of Christ. I dress modestly and abstain from anything vulgar or immoral. I use clean language and try to only listen and watch things that are uplifting and virtuous. I try to include others and do service for anyone who may stand in need help. I am trying my best to be a representation of Christ.
