Hi I'm Jenny

I love my family, I love nature, I love science, I love my Saviour Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I spend my time looking after my four wonderful children and husband. This is my fourth career change so far. I've spent time previously as a microbiologist, missionary, science teacher and now full time mother. I have spent eleven years now as a mother, and although it is sometimes difficult, it is what I love most in the world. We have so much fun together. My husband and I love to spend time with and teach our children, to watch them grow and reach their great potential. I like to contribute at the children's school as much as I can - on the P&C, in the classroom etc. Learning is important, and this helps my children to know that I value their education. I love spending time outside, pottering in the garden and appreciating this creation.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents taught me about God and Jesus as I was growing up. There came a time when my previous church could no longer answer the questions I was accumulating - about the nature of God and humanity, about life after this one and so on. Luckily, that was around a time when I met some Mormons at work, who talked to me about their beliefs and introduced me to the missionaries (thanks guys!). After much thought and prayer, I came to know that being baptised and joining the LDS church was the right thing for me to do. It was difficult, as my family were not too pleased, but they have supported me over the years. I continue to be a Mormon, because it continues to answer my questions! There are now more questions!, but I know that Heavenly Father will answer in His own way, and gives me help everyday.

How I live my faith

I love to attend church, where I meet with other people who are also trying to follow Jesus. This helps me and lifts me up each week. At church we have the "sacrament" (communion or last supper) to remember the Saviour. We also have classes to study the scriptures and doctrines. Everyone has the opportunity to preach or teach. This is great to get out of your comfort zone, and stretch your spiritual muscles, instead of passively sitting in a pew! I love to live my faith in my daily life. I try to read my scriptures each day and pray to develop my relationship with my Heavenly Father. I also try to teach my children to do these things, so that they can learn to rely on God as they grow. I'm also trying to develop charity - the pure Love of Christ. Serving and helping others brings us happiness.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Jenny
I love to attend the temple, and feel the Holy Spirit there. This is a place where I learn about the creation for me, my fall, and the Atonement of Jesus Christ for me. The scriptures are full of parables, one of Jesus' favourite ways of teaching. In the temple, great gospel truths are taught in a symbolic way, like a parable, which helps me to understand and think about them in different ways. Each time I attend the temple, I learn some new insight into my Saviour's love and his great plan for me. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Jenny
Sure, I believe in my Saviour Jesus Christ, I believe that he suffered in the garden of Gethsemane, and on the cross to take away my sins. I love his teachings, try to read and understand them better, try to live them better, try to teach them to my children. Show more Show less
