Hi I'm Claudia

The most rewarding "career" I have experienced is that of being a mother. I have another career now as a nurse, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being productive with my time. I have been a registered nurse for almost 4 years now and I really enjoy working with people and helping them feel better physically and feel better about themselves. This is a new career for me and something that I felt prompted to do as the time when my youngest children would be leaving home came near. I also love to garden, sew, cook and talk to my children and grandchildren on the phone--since none of them live close by. I have had the opportunity to learn sign language because we have two sons with severe hearing loss. We enjoy associating with our deaf friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a wonderful heritage full of strong dedicated people who believed in something so much that they were willing to sacrifice much to obtain what they knew for themselves to be true. I am so grateful for their love of the Savior Jesus Christ and their desire to follow him. My ancestors joined the church in England and Denmark through missionaries who traveled from the United States to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. This was a new religion of the times and there was much persecution, but they remained true to the message they knew to be true. They had received a witness that the words they were being taught were from God and that they were true. I too have come to know that the message of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ is true. I may not have the same types of trials that my ancestors had as they continued to live their beliefs, but I have trials today that test my faith as well. Trials that have made me wonder at times if everything I have tried to accomplish and work for is really worth it. With all the deception and lack of respect in our society, I find great peace and comfort in knowing that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love me. And then I know that it is all worth it. I don't just believe this, I know this because I have felt their loving arms around me in my most difficult of times. I know that Heavenly Father loves us here on the earth today just as he loved the people of ancient times in the Bible. God spoke to prophets then because he wanted to guide his children, and I know that he speaks to prophets today because we are just as important to Him as they were. He wants all of his children to return to live with Him. The Holy Ghost has witnessed this to me through a most peaceful, warm and wonderful feeling in my heart. The restored Gospel of Jesus Christ brings me the greatest joy and happiness that I could ever imagine.

How I live my faith

My faith is my life. My religion has become my way of life. My goal is to pattern my behaviors after those of the Savior Jesus Christ. I am not perfect and I make mistakes everyday, but I know that I must keep trying and never give up. Through the Savior's atonement I am able to start fresh and continue to progress. When I continue to try to live as the Savior did, I have more joy and peace in my life. I am also able to accomplish my work and home life in a more effective and efficient way. I enjoy working with the young women in our local congregation on Sunday's and one day during the week. I love sharing my feelings about the Savior with them to help them be more like the Him, helping them learn to be productive citizens in our community, and learn skills that will help them be good mothers and wives.
