Hi I'm Jerry Rieck

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 58 years old. I've lived most of my life in Arizona. I've been married for 28 years and we have 8 children and 15 grandchildren. I'm an accountant by profession. I enjoy music - I've sung in school & church choirs since I was 15 and I play the guitar.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church, but everyone has to know for themselves if the things the church professes are true. As a youth I came to know for myself that the Lord's church has been restored upon the earth. I served a church mission which further strengthened my knowledge that this is the Lord's work. I have felt the Lord's hand and spirit many times in my life through many experiences, which have reinforced the knowledge that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me, and that this is His Plan. The gospel of Jesus Christ, as it has been restored in it's fullness, gives us the knowledge and understanding of who our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ really are. It gives us the knowledge that through the atonement of Jesus Christ our Saviour will make up the difference after we do all we can to become the best we can be.

How I live my faith

The Lord's church is here to give us the tools to become better individuals and learn to help others. I have had the opportunity to serve in callings in the church in the scouting program, as a Sunday School teacher, and as a missionary. I am currently serving in the Sunday School presidency. This calling is important in assuring that the principles of the gospel are being taught effectively. My wife and I also try to be involved and informed in political matters, as well, as we know that our freedoms are important in allowing us the ability to worship freely. The gospel of Jesus Christ is more than a once-a-week going to church activity. As someone once said, the gospel of Jesus Christ is not like a single room of a house, but should be the paint on the wall of every room. Our Heavenly Father wants us to be happy in this life and has given us a plan to reach our full potential and be with those we love, forever. He doesn't measure our success by worldly standards, but by what we are becoming on the inside. I try to treat others the way the Saviour did. But, because I make mistakes, it's wonderful to know that the Lord has us a way to help us overcome our errors and move forward.
