Hi I'm Sarah

I'm a daughter, a sister, and a friend. I am a college graduate, a newly-called missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was homeschooled by my stay-at-home mom until entering community college early and graduating with my associates in science. I hope to continue my education to become a dental hygienist. At home I love to draw, to read, and to write. I am very close to my four younger siblings and I have an awesome mom and dad who love me. Together we enjoy watching movies, playing games, singing, going swimming, and just having fun. I also love spending time with my friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and grew up learning about the gospel. But I no longer base my faith on the testimony of my parents and church leaders. I have gradually come to know for myself that this is God's true, restored church on the Earth and that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I was baptised and confirmed when I was eight years old and since then have learned how to listen to the Holy Ghost and follow it's promptings. I have read the Book of Mormon all the way through several times and can personally witness that it is the word of God. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet, that he saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and translated the book of Mormon. I know the Priesthood has been restored to the Earth and that we have a living prophet today, President Thomas S. Monson, who guides and directs this church.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday and I love it! Right now I have a calling in Primary teaching the 3 and 4-year-olds in the "Sunbeams" class. I also lead the music in Sacrament meeting. But my church callings are a small part of how I live my faith. At home, in the workplace, and among friends I try to maintain a kind, Christ-like attitude. I am not perfect at it. But I have found that the better my relationship with my Heavenly Father, the better my outward demeanor and my behavior become. I feel closest to God when I pray, read the scriptures, and serve others. I say my personal prayers every morning and night and I say nightly prayers with my family. Another good habit I have maintained for ten years now is reading in my scriptures everyday. I especially love reading the Book of Mormon. I have also been so blessed to be able to serve as part of Jesus Christ's church. I serve as a Visiting Teacher meeting at least monthly with two great women in my ward (congregation). I have been able to offer each of them service as a friend, helping where needed. But very soon I will leave my friends and family behind to serve a mission. I will become a full-time proselyting missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Zimbabwe, Harare Mission in April 2016. I am so excited to be able to serve the people in Zimbabwe for a year and a half and share with them the gospel I love so much!
