Hi I'm Patrick

I am father of five, firefighter, and Army reservist that has served in both Iraq and Afghanistan. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have five children, the last of whom has Down syndrome. We live in the country and enjoy raising all kinds of animals. I like building and fixing just about anything and prior to being a firefighter I worked as a mechanic.

Why I am a Mormon

I originally sought out the missionaries to prove to myself that the church was bunk after I read the "Mormons, Inc." article in Time Magazine in 1996. After meeting with the missionaries and taking the discussions, I felt the truth of what I was being told. I also grew up in a community that had a lot of LDS families and I admired their values. I was baptized in 1996 and have felt my testimony grow over the years as the gospel, and fellow church members, have sustained my family and I through many trials.

How I live my faith

Right now i serve as an instructor in the Elder's quorum, teaching a lesson every month called "Teaching for Our Times" that takes talks from church leaders given recently and relates it to everyday lives of church members. I also support my children in their activities at church. In the past I have served as a scout leader, Sunday school teacher, and temple worker.
