Hi I'm Jodi

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. (Mormon)

About Me

I'm thirty-two years old. I grew up in Texas and Colorado. I've been married twelve years. My husband travels a lot. I miss him, but sometimes we get to tag along on his trips. I have a ten year old son and an eight year old daughter. They are endlessly entertaining. I've fostered thirteen teenagers (not all at once) in the past four years. I have one foster grandaughter and a foster grandson on the way. Fostering is one of the best and hardest things I have done. I'm writing and directing plays for 5-8 year olds. I love writing and reading and travelling and eating out and conversations.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints since 1986. I grew up in the church, and was baptized at the traditional age of eight. I knew then that the church is true, and I know now, with deeper certainty every day of my life. I know Jesus is the Christ, the Reedeemer of the world. I know God loves us. I know we are His children and He knows and cares what happens to us. I know we lived before we came to earth and we will live again after we pass through this life. Life is a test, a trial, and if we endure it well, we will be able to return to live again with God. I know that my family can be together forever. I know Joseph Smith restored Jesus' church on the earth. I know we can receive personal revelation. Knowing these things brings me joy and peace and comfort and direction in my life.

How I live my faith

I believe God has a plan for each of us. I believe He expects us to serve Him and to serve each other. I know great joy comes through service. I serve Him by teaching the 18 month-3 year old class at church, by visiting neighbors and friends, by teaching my children to love and serve God, and by caring for those teenagers who are in foster care. I serve others by donating time to run an afterschool theater program in my area. Service brings me happiness. My goal for my life is to learn and grow and progress all I can while I am here on this earth, and I know service will help me to achieve this goal.
