Hi I'm Wendy

I grew up on a farm. I am a mother of four boys, and a Kindergarten teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married to my husband and best friend for over twenty years and we have four boys. I enjoy doing all kinds of things with my family such as hiking, biking, camping and sports. I also love painting and music, when I have time for it. While my boys were still young, my husband and I both felt it was important for me to go back to school to finish my education. I received my Master's in Education and began to teach elementary school when my youngest was in 1st grade. It is hard work to be a mother of four boys and teach Kindergarten. Although it has been difficult at times it has been very rewarding, and I can see my Heavenly Father's help guiding me as I work to teach His children.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon all of my life. My mother is a convert to the church. She joined the church with her family when she was fourteen. It was because of my mother's love and testimony, along with the testimony of my father, that I was able to discover for myself that I too, wanted to embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ in my own life. I specifically remember when I was thirteen I knelt to pray to ask my Father in Heaven if the Book of Mormon was true, and if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was true. It seemed like I was kneeling for a long time. A feeling came over me of complete peace and the thought came to my mind, "Wendy, you have always known." I did not question my answer. I knew my Heavenly Father loved me and was telling me. I am a Mormon because of how it makes me feel. I have purpose and direction for my life. I know our Father in Heaven and his son Jesus Christ love us enough to continue the lines of communication as they did in the ancient church when Jesus Christ was on the earth. We have living prophets. I know where I came from, why I am here on the earth, and where I will go after I die. I am so thankful for Jesus Christ and the part of his Atonement he suffered for me. I have come to feel of his love and I want to become like him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to live each day how I believe Jesus Christ would want me to. I believe my choice to become a school teacher is a call from my Father in Heaven, and I appeal to Him daily to help me as I work to teach my own boys, and teach the children in my class. Our loving Father in Heaven blesses me with thoughts and feelings of how to lift and help others, which in turn gives me a richer life. Along with my responsibilities as a wife, mother and school teacher, I serve in the church as a teacher to 14 and 15 year old girls. We have a weekly activity and I teach lessons on Sundays in our Young Women's class. I love to teach the girls and share my testimony with them of our Father in Heaven and his son Jesus Christ. I've had various opportunities to serve in the Church, with many different responsibilities. With each calling in which I serve come different challenges from which I am able to learn and grow. I am thankful for my membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know it is true.
