Hi I'm Shea

I grew up in Utah. I currently live in Colorado and work as a CPA for a public accounting firm. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah. I served a mission in the Illinois Chicago North Mission. Following my mission I finished my Master's degree in accountancy from Brigham Young University. I currently work as a CPA for a public accounting firm in Denver, Colorado. I'm married to my wonderful wife and we have one beautiful daughter. I couldn't ask for anything more than to be happily married and raising a family! My wife and daughter are the ladies of my life and I love spending as much time as I can with them. I enjoy watching and playing sports of all kinds, particularly football. I also enjoy physical fitness and spend a fair amount of time exercising. I love to read and enjoy learning about new subjects.

Why I am a Mormon

As mentioned above, I grew up in Utah in an LDS family. I was baptized a member of this church at the age of eight and continued to attend during my youth. I've been asked many times in my life "Are you a member of the Mormon church just because your parents are? How do you know it's true?" I can honestly say that I never had one single "Aha!" moment where all of a sudden I knew this church was true. From my earliest memories I've always been one to want to do what was right and please the Lord. As I continued to follow the teachings of the church as a youth and did what I believed to be pleasing to the Lord, He let me know time and time again with subtle whisperings from the Holy Ghost that I was on the right track and that my conviction in the Mormon church was true.

How I live my faith

My wife and I seek to live our faith by following the admonition of the apostle Paul to Timothy, when he counseled Timothy to be "an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity." (1 Tim. 4:12) We strive to study the scriptures (the Bible, the Book of Mormon, and the Doctrine & Covenants) individually and as a family. We strive to do the will of our Father in Heaven by communicating with Him through prayer both individually and as a family. We seek to magnify our respective callings in the church as well. My calling in the church is to work with the youth, specifically the teenage boys. I help to organize uplifting social activities for the youth. In addition, I help plan camps, classes, and other activities relating to our youth's involvement with the Boy Scouts of America program. Perhaps my greatest opportunity in working with the youth, however, is the chance I have to be their teacher during their youth meetings on Sunday. I learn much from the youth as they answer my questions and ask questions of their own.
