Hi I'm Elder Preston Kellogg

I am a Missionary called to serve in the Budapest Hungary mission, I am a big brother, a world class talker, and I am a Mormon!

About Me

I grew up in Arizona as the oldest of 7 siblings and with a menagerie of pets. I have loved being the oldest child because of the chance it has given me to be an example to my younger siblings - a constant task. As I have grown, I have developed a love for many hobbies, including SCUBA diving, camping, snow boarding, swimming, hiking, and reading. I have a passion for learning, and have had a wonderful time at Mesa Community College, where I earned my Associates Degree in Science. My favorite thing to do is to talk. I love chatting with anyone I meet about anything and everything - especially dreams and ambitions. Perhaps my most defining trait is my love of life - the excitement that I have for trying new things, the love I have for God's children everywhere, and the energy and enthusiasm that I put in to everything I do. That is what made me Preston Kellogg, and I am excited to see how that will define me as Elder Kellogg!

Why I am a Mormon

Though I am young, I have been able to associate with many different people from many walks of life, and I have been able to see firsthand the peace that being a member of the Church brings. Every aspect of the Mormon church is pointed towards Jesus Christ and his atoning sacrifice, and I have seen the blessings that come from that. The Church provides answers to the "Big Questions:" Who am I, Why am I here, Where am I going, What is my purpose in life? This direction gives me a clear view on my own life. I have developed a testimony and an understanding of Jesus' plan for me. If nothing else, it has brought me joy and peace - two things that seem to be lacking in much of the world today. Why am I a Mormon? It is because every single part of the church, from it's teachings to it's very name point towards the one person that I want my life to be based off of - my Lord and Savior, my Brother and Friend, my Redeemer and my God - Jesus Christ. That is what the Mormon Church is all about, and that is why I am apart of it.

How I live my faith

The testimony I have in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is so strong that I am willing to leave behind my family, friends, schooling, and hobbies to travel over 6,000 miles to a foreign country to teach about the restored gospel of Christ. I have made it clear in all groups I have associated with my whole life that I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints through my words, but more importantly through how I live my life. I have tried to model my life after the teachings of Jesus, and have seen how it has blessed my life. Perhaps the way this is most evident is the love I have for people. When I see someone, I try not to be deterred by their outward appearance, but rather I try to look at them as Jesus would - as Children of God. I have found that this mindset makes me happier, more peaceful and helps me draw closer to God.
