Hi I'm Shawn

I'm a husband, engineer, gamer and lego enthusiast. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband and father to two great kids. I love spending time with my family and doing things together. I am just starting out in my working career as a mechanical engineer. I like to play most sports even though I don't have a lot of time to do so. I love to design legos and put them together. I have many sets but no room to put them up. I also enjoy working with wood by designing and building projects.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church since my parents were members. I have two memorable experience from my youth that determined my relationship to my Heavenly Father. My first experience happened while I was 14. I had been reading and thinking about the Book of Mormon and decided to ask Heavenly Father if it was true. After I had prayed I got this feeling. The best way I can describe it is that it was a great joy building up inside of me. I also felt peaceful about the situation. I knew that it was Heavenly Father telling me that the Book of Mormon was true. The other experience happened two years afterwards. I was a sophomore in high school and decided to pray and see if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was the church of God on the earth. I went to my room by myself and asked Heavenly Father if this was His church on the earth today. After I had finished my prayer I received the same joyful feeling that I had received when I asked about the Book of Mormon. At that time I knew that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was the true church of our Heavenly Father on this earth today. Since this time I have been trying my best to keep the commandments and live my life as the Lord would like me to.

How I live my faith

I am currently the Scout Master for one of our Boy Scout Troops. It is a great experience to help the boys grow in their outdoor and leadership skills. I also teach the youth in my ward every Sunday. I continue to live my faith by trying to show kindness and courtesy to everyone that I deal with during my day.
