Hi I'm Heather

I'm a college student, music enthusiast, multiracial desert mouse, strong-minded young lady, & future pharmacist...& I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm a pretty laid back person who gets along with most anyone I meet. I'm quiet when I don't know people, but once I do I am the exact opposite. I'm a little ambitious and once my mind is set on something, it's takes some persuasion to change my mind. I am 22, Arizona-raised, and attending college to get prerequisites for pharmacy school. I also work as a pharmacy technician. I absolutely enjoy being around my friends and family, and my life would be incomplete without them. Music is an important part of my life and I listen to anything aside from rap--it just doesn't move me. I love singing, dancing, and cooking, and want to gain many more talents throughout my life. I enjoy doing things that keep me active, happy, & healthy, and I like to have some occasional "me time" to think about things, especially at the temple. I also have the privilege of serving the Lord in a full-time mission--I can't wait to get out there and share my happiness and the peace I have with those who are seeking it :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was born & raised in the church, but like anyone else, I have agency or the ability to choose what I will do in my life. Throughout my later teenage life, I had heard questionable things that made me wonder if the Church was true. However, as I continued to learn more about the gospel, I became ever more aware of its truthfulness, and all questions were dispelled. I have chosen to remain a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I know that this church is the Lord's true church, and that this gospel is the Lord's and has been fully restored through Joseph Smith. I know there is a God--so many things bear witness of Him. I know that Jesus Christ came down to Earth and suffered for our sins so that we could have the opportunity to live with Him and our Heavenly Father again. They love us very much and want us in their presence, but we can only be there if we use our agency in such a way that will bring us back to them. I know that Joseph Smith really was a prophet of God. There is absolutely no way he could've made up something so remarkable as The Book of Mormon. This gospel is from God & Jesus Christ, who direct and inspire our modern, living prophets, apostles, and other church leaders. I love this church and the gospel because they bring so much peace, joy, and comfort to my life. The gospel truly teaches us the way to return to our Heavenly Father & His Son, Jesus Christ, and I don't know where I would be without it.

How I live my faith

I try my best to live the way the Savior did, does, & would have me live--being good to everyone, helping people as much as I can, and seeing others the way He does: as children of God. I am slowly working on living with more faith in the Lord that everything will turn out for the better in His time and in His way. I also want to be more in tune with the Holy Ghost, and as a result I am working on praying, reading the scriptures, and being in peaceful places more often, because I know that doing those things will increase my spirituality and help me be able to receive help from the Holy Ghost more easily. I love helping & serving wherever I can, especially with church functions. I have assisted with planning & organizing Institute events (Institute is like Seminary, but for college-age people--a place where members of the Church & even non-members can take classes about the Bible, Book of Mormon, and other gospel topics, and a place where we have fun little parties :D ). I am the librarian at church, and I also visit a couple girls around my age each month to talk with them, make sure they are well, and share a church message with them. I have also taught young kids in Sunday School, and enjoy answering people's questions about the gospel as best as I can! :)
