Hi I'm Denise Rose Niccoli

I am a full time college student working two part time jobs and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like to sing and play soccer and I have a passion for music and the fine arts. I am 16 years old. I am the only one in my family who is a member of the church.

Why I am a Mormon

I was 15 when I was baptized into the church. I had friends who are members of the church and whenever I had questions they would answer them for me. Soon enough, I was invited to church by one of them and girls camp. At girls camp, I had my own experience. At a fireside we had that night, we were all singing "Live Like You Believe" by Jenny Phillips. I, not having the lyrics for it, sat and listened to the rest of the camp sing the song. I began to feel like I was alone in my family. I was the only interested in the church and my dad had said earlier the only reason why he let me go is so that I could get out of the house. I hated feeling alone. I began to look around at all of the girls and I realized, I may feel alone at home, but there's so many others who are supporting me in this. I, then, felt like someone was holding me from behind and there was a spot on my arms that was noticeably warm. It stayed like that for about five minutes or so and then we were told to stand up and stretch and just like that, the feeling was gone. I talked to a few people about and they told me to trust what I felt and pray about. The next night at testimony meeting, I shared that with everyone. Afterward, our bishop looked at me and addressed me directly saying, "Denise, that feeling that you said you felt, it was the Holy Ghost comforting you, telling you this church is true, letting you know you're not alone." When I got back from girls camp, I talked to my parents about starting the missionary lessons. It took about a month to get them started but finally the time came when they asked, "Are you ready to take the next step by getting baptized?" I was baptized on October 16, 2010 and I am so grateful that those friends that introduced me to the church came into my life and showed me something I was looking for since seventh grade. I'm grateful to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I faithfully attend church and church activities. I am very involved with the church and i attend seminary every morning.
