Hi I'm Loralee

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a full-time at-home mother of three, a part-time freelance writer, and a creator of science experiments for children. Raising children helps me come up with great article ideas for child and parenting magazines. I sing in a Renaissance choir, I clog, and I read as much as I can.

Why I am a Mormon

The Church helps me keep my priorities in order. When I put my faith first, I put my family first, and we all benefit. The gospel reminds me to be patient, loving, and forgiving, all skills I need to work on as I teach and raise my children. My husband and I share common gospel goals, which help us work together as we spend time with our children, teach them to love each other, teach them to serve others, and teach them about Christ. When we live the teachings of the gospel, our lives are happier.

How I live my faith

On Sundays, after my husband and I wrestle children into church clothes, I hurry to church to play the organ for congregational singing. I then proceed to primary, where I share the responsibility of teaching young children. I learn so much from watching their simple faith develop. On Mondays, we try to carve out a few minutes for family home evening, where we teach the gospel and enjoy each other's company. It can be as simple as a scripture and a game of tag. This school year I am trying to read the Book of Mormon with my children. If we're lucky, we manage to squeeze in a few verses every morning before rushing them off to school.
