Hi I'm Wendy Jenks

I am a wife, and a mother of 5 children. I love life and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of 5 fabulous children. A wife to a wonderful husband going on 23 years. We were both born and raised in California. We currently reside in Texas. We enjoy spending time as a family. We love to travel. We love to explore and teach our kids new things. Some of our favorite adventures include surfing, snorkeling motorcycling, and hiking.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up with many religious questions. My family attended the Lutheran church. We did not go every Sunday and if we did go it would just be when my grandmother would take me and my brother and sister. My parents rarely went with us. I attended cataclysm classes at age 12. I remember asking the pastor one day during our weekly class "Where did God come from?" The room was so quite and he told me that wasn't an appropriate question. I really had a problem with religion from that point on. I believed in God and I made many mental notes along the way on what I wanted in religion. I always felt God was there for me I never gave up. At age 19 I met my husband. We dated for several years. He was raised Mormon. He helped me understand so many things while we were dating that really made me want to find our more about the Mormons. One thing that really stood out was eternal families. I loved the idea of a family together forever. When looking deeper I learned about Heavenly Fathers Plan for us. What was odd about learning about these things is that I felt like I had already known them before. They just seemed common knowledge. Finally I got hold of a Book of Mormon. I couldn't put it down and read it within a week. I can't really describe the joy and happiness I felt during this time. I didn't want that "feeling" to end It was a turning point in my life. I prayed to know if it was true and Soon after I was baptized. I f felt like I had found the answers I had been searching for.

How I live my faith

My life as a Mormon is a busy one. My husband and I have many responsibilities with out church. I am currently working with the teenage girls in an organization called Young Woman. The girls are amazing and so fun to be around. During the week we have many activities that keep the family going back and forth from the church. Boys Scouts, Young Women ( a type of youth organization for girls 12-18) meeting weekly,Activity days (a class for girls 8-11) that meets twice a month. We have a similar group for the woman in our church called the Relief Society. We meet on Sundays during church as well as having many social events during the month. Monday nights are reserved for the family. It is called Family Home evening. We try not to participate in any other activities outside the home and focus on the family. We can play games or teach a spiritual lesson. Being a Mormon is crazy busy! But the most important thing is that we are happy! Being Mormon makes us Happy!!
