Hi I'm Jenni

I'm a mom of 2. A 3rd generation violinist. I get butterflies just thinking about creating something pretty and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was first a daughter and then a twin sister to my crazy, fun brother. I grew up playing the violin with my grandmother and my cute mom while trying to learn as much as I could from them. Music was my life...music and the gospel of course. I took my love for both of these things and attended BYU-Idaho where I studied to become a secondary school music teacher. That is where I really fell in love with my instrument and then with my husband. Now we get to live in the most gorgeous place on earth with two of the sweetest kids. I teach violin from my home and really enjoy hosting a good party. True that I spend most of my days sweeping up crumbs and doing laundry but when it finally gets quiet and the dishes are done I can't wait to just sit and create. There is something so exciting about using my hands to create something pretty, whether it's with my sewing machine or with my grandmother's violin.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have felt an undeniable witness that there is a loving Heavenly Father who is aware of me and my family. In fact every time I have asked Him for truth at home or at church He has blessed me through the spirit with sweet tender little glimpses of heaven. Sometimes it may come as a whisper of peace through the trees or a touch of sunlight on my face after days and days of rain but most of the time it has come through a friend who has felt impressed to show kindness to me or it has come through the power of good music. Every hard thing I have had to do has helped me to grow and to feel His strengthening and loving embrace. Each moment of joy has helped me to see things a little bit more like He sees them. My Heavenly Father did not put me here on this earth to fail or to be discouraged. In fact He has given me this earthly experience so that I can become like Him - so that I could feel His peace and his joy. What a sweet understanding to have and to truly know. Everything good comes from God and I'm a Mormon so that throughout this life I will get to find and experience all of His goodness.

How I live my faith

Because I know who I am and have felt of His love I have a great desire to share these things with others, especially the youth around me. I work with 12-18 year old girls in my area and together we are working towards understanding more about our divine heritage. We plan and carry out activities that help us to discover what we are good at and how to become good mothers and wives someday. We learn how to treat each other and how to see our Heavenly Father's love through acts of service. Basically I am there to teach but most of the time they are the ones who end up teaching me. I also look for opportunities to share my testimony through music. Because I feel so strongly when I play or when I sing I'm hoping that that same spirit will be felt in those that are listening or in those I am teaching. My Father in Heaven gave me this gift and i believe it should be used to bring others to Him.
