Hi I'm Stacey

I love to travel and hope to visit all the world, but my heart never leaves the Arizona desert. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Arizona, but when I met someone special on the internet who lived in San Diego and had kids there he couldn't leave, I moved there to date and eventually marry him. We have since had three children together and have moved our family to Salt Lake City and now back to Arizona. Raising a blended family has not always been easy, but we are dedicated to the task. I am a graduate of ASU (go Sun Devils!) with a BA in education, but right now at this stage in my life, it's important to me to stay home and be a mother. I taught myself to play piano (well, I'm okay at it). I love to read nonfiction books to learn more about all sorts of subjects, sew Halloween costumes for my family, travel anywhere I can afford to go, use online brokers to invest for my future, and shop at Costco! I also enjoy spending time with my family doing water sports at the lake, hiking the Arizona mountains, going on day trips, or just having a cookout and playing on the swing set.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon has given me a sense of purpose and direction in my life. I have learned to treasure those things in life that are truly important, like family, and to stand up for all that is good and uplifting to the human family. Following Christ's example brings out the best in me, and feeling the forgiveness I have gained through Him has brought me peace and satisfaction. As I have lived the commandments and sought personal revelation and conversation with God, I have felt the Holy Spirit deep in my heart, telling me that there is indeed a prophet on the Earth today to guide and direct us. I have spent many hours in the Book of Mormon, gaining inspiration from its passages, and just having an overwhelming feeling in my heart that what I am reading was inspired of God.

How I live my faith

My family attends our congregation every week, and I play piano for the children's classes. My husband organizes the cleaning of the church building on Saturdays. My oldest daughter will be baptized by her dad this year when she turns eight, and she is so excited. We have family prayer each night and study the Bible and Book of Mormon together. On Monday nights, we set aside time in the evening to have a gospel lesson as a family where we pray, sing, read scriptures, do activities together, and have dessert. It is sweet to hear my young daughters' voices sing the words, "I am a child of God." Their faith is so pure, and looking into their faces, I know what they sing is true.
