Hi I'm Sue

I grew up in Washington state. I'm an administrative assistant, a mother of four, a step-mother to four more, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work full-time and love to spend time with my husband and our children. We have eight children and three grandchildren all together. Most of our children are living on their own now, but I'm grateful that we can be in touch by phone, text, and Skype. I spend my spare time knitting, quilting, canning fruits and veggies, jogging and walking for exercise, and reading good books. We like to spend time together at the ocean and enjoy fishing in the many rivers and lakes near our home.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined the church when I was very young, so I was raised in the church. As a teenager, I made decisions that took me away for a time, but as I started having my own children, I felt drawn back to the gospel and knew that I needed the help in raising my children that the church provides. I feel the love of my Father in Heaven and the Savior as I follow the commandments and serve others. I feel peace even when my life seems chaotic with all of the demands on my time. I know that the restored gospel of Jesus Christ is on the earth today, and that there is a living prophet, Thomas S. Monson, who leads and directs the church, and that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live and love us.

How I live my faith

I get the opportunity to teach 10 & 11 year old boys each Sunday. I enjoy engaging in discussions about the gospel with them. They know the scripture stories very well and have great personalities. I have fun working with the Young Women ages 12-18 from time to time. I am going to be a referee for the Young Women's volleyball team. I enjoy visiting with three women from our church each month to check on how they are doing and give them a gospel message. I have truly come to love these women. Our family has had two of our children on a mission for the church. Our daughter just came home this summer and our son is still serving his mission. I enjoy writing to them and hearing of their spiritual growth along with the growth of those that they teach and serve. What a blessing to our family!
