Hi I'm Kathy

I'm a Mormon. I am a wife and a mother. I am a country girl at heart.

About Me

I am a country girl at heart. I enjoy being outdoors. I love growing plants especially flowers. I enjoy kayaking, cooking. (I am sure that I set records in how many dishes we wash. We eat well.) I have been honored to be the mother of eight terrific children! Raising our children and being a good wife has been my main focus. So my life is not glamorous but it is very rewarding. My husband and I recently celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary! Our latest title is now Grandparent! I have tried to make a difference in our community. I have volunteered at the children's school. I have been a Cub Scout leader, I have also worked with a couple of different girl's youth groups. I have also been the propmaster for community youth theater musicals for the past 5 years. I have a love for reading. I would much rather read a good book than watch a movie. When the summer is unbearably hot and I need to remind myself that the world is lovely, I can be found kayaking down the river with my family or friends enjoying the adventure of wildlife and lovely Arizona sunsets. I consider myself a patriot and have a deep love for my country.

Why I am a Mormon

I think I have always loved God. As a girl I felt His love for me when I enjoyed the beauty in the world He created for us. My parents are also members of the church and I was taught well. I have prayed to know for myself if The church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. I have felt a sweet witness of peace. I have felt peace in my life despite living in a troubled world, because I trust in God. He can see farther than us. He can see eternity. I do try to follow Jesus Christ's example and have felt the joy that comes from keeping his commandments. I have a great respect for those that have gone before and their faith. I feel that they have given us a great gift of faith and courage. Reading the scriptures helps me in my life. Jesus Christ is our Savior. He makes repentance possible. He gives me hope. I know that I can trust God to keep His promises.

How I live my faith

I help build up God's Kingdom by helping those around me. I have several sweet older neighbors that I try to be aware of and be their friend. Our family goes to church each Sunday. We sing in the church choir. I teach the 12 & 13 year old girls. We also meet on Wednesday evenings. We help them grow and learn in many areas. Last week I taught them an art lesson! We had a great time. They didn't want to leave. I also visit a couple of ladies in the church each month and bring them a spiritual message and help them if they have needs. God keeps me learning and growing as I serve in the church.
