Hi I'm Chris

I was born in Provo, Utah, and I've also lived Minnesota and New Mexico. I'm an Eagle Scout, a black belt, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the kind of person who loves to be out and doing things! I love the Scouting program, and I earned my Eagle Scout in August of 2009. I was happy to be able to do so, and I continue today to serve the Scouts whenever I get the chance. I also study the martial arts, and I earned my black belt in the Shotokan karate style in January of 2010. Being in the Scouting program and in karate taught me the value of hard work and discipline, things that I am able to apply every day in my life. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is also important to me, and the things I learn there are more important that any Scouting rank or martial arts belt could ever be. I love my mother and my father, as well as all three of my siblings (one older brother and two younger sisters), and I know that as we learn more about the Gospel and seek to apply the things that Christ taught, our family is happier and closer together.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. While my parents raised me in the Gospel, I am a member today because I have felt the Spirit of God, known that it is good, and I know that only He could touch my heart in such a way as that. I know that Jesus Christ is my Redeemer, that He lives, and that He will save all who call upon His name. He lived and died for us, the sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father, so that He would be able to save us. In the Garden of Gethsemane, and on the cross at Calvary, He bled and suffered for us, so that we would have the opportunity to repent and be saved. I testify that Jesus Christ is the Only Begotten Son of the Father, and that through obedience to His words and commandments, we can live with Him and the Father again, with our families, forever.

How I live my faith

I'm currently living my faith by sharing it as a missionary! I'm serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Belgium/Netherlands mission! I'm glad to have the chance to share the Gospel with the people who live in those two great countries, and I'm thankful that I have the chance to share such a wonderful message. I know that the Gospel is a message of peace and happiness, and I plan to do everything that I can to testify of Christ and help others draw close to Him. It was hard to leave my family behind for two years (that's how long a missionary serves), but I know that as I serve, they will be blessed and protected by the Lord. As a missionary, I spend all day talking to people I meet about the Godpel of Jesus Christ. We teach those who are not members of our church about what we believe, and we invite them to pray to our Heavenly Father and ask Him if what we say is true. As we teach, we come to love those we are teaching, and the only thing we want for them is to come to Christ and find eternal happiness.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Chris
Yes! The prophets have taught that families can be together forever if they are sealed together in a temple of God. We do believe that families who are sealed together will live together in heaven. The purpose of the gospel is to enable us to live with our families forever, which we can only do if we live in the manner that Christ has commanded. Because He loves us, He has prepared a way for us to be able to have our family around us for the rest of eternity. Show more Show less
