Hi I'm Leslie Ruth Talbot Pearson

I live in Arizona & love the heat. I love reading, good movies, travel, Shakespeare, gardening and my grandkids . I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to read, at least if it has a happy ending. I ALWAYS read the ending before I read a book because it is not worth my time if I will be sad at the end! My favorites are the Classics, anything Jane Austen related, Historical fiction and myteries. I love Shakespeare! I recently started an in home business called Charmed By Shakespeare. I created and now sell a line of 37 Shakespeare play charms. One charm that represents each play. My tag line is "See ye the play, buy ye the Charm! I am working on getting them sold in as many Shakespeare gift shops around the world as I can and on my web site. I love gardening, all kinds, not just vegetable gardening. I have a train garden, a Shakespeare garden, and Alice in Wonderland garden, a vegetable garden, all in my yard. Give me a theme I love and I will find a way to make a garden out of that theme! I love traveling where ever I can, but I especially love visiting England. I love to write, and post what I write on one of my 2 blogs. I have a personal blog that I can write about anything I want, and I have my Shakespeare blog on my business web site where I can write commentaries about the plays, do reviews of Shakespeare movies or plays, and my opinions about all things Shakespeare. The thing I love most is my husband and family! I love visiting them, and I love the grandkids coming over and playing on our weekly Grandma day. I love Sunday night when most of the kids and grandkids come over for dinner.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was born into a family that belongs to the church, I had to gain a testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ of my own. I have gained and strengthen that testimony over and over throughout my life by putting into practice the teachings of Jesus Christ and his Atonement for us in my life. I have made mistakes and have sought and recieved forgiveness for those mistakes and I know, because of that, I have a loving Heavenly Father that knows me and loves me. I know that through a living Prophet, Joseph Smith, the Gospel of Jesus was restored to the Earth. Also the blessings of having an Eternal family, sealed to each other forever, is possible for me and my family. I also know that God loves us as much today and therefore has given to us a living Prophet today to lead and guide us if we have the Faith to listen to his guidance and counsel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to serve others in my church assignments, in the community and family. In the Church I serve in the womens organization that is called Relief Society Program and love the ladies that I serve. I have come to realize that Heavenly Father is interested and knows each one of us on a very personal level and will send others to help them with what ever their needs are. One of the ways he does this is through the Visiting Teaching Program. As a Visiting Teacher I love the ladies I teach! I know when I go and visit them that I will end up learning more from them than I have taught them. I know that if I ever need anything, I have friends in my Visiting Teachers that I can call on to help me. That is an amazing blessing! In all the callings I have had in the church throughout my life, I have always learned more about the Gospel and about myself if I have dilligently served in those calling to the best of my ability. I try to serve in the community to make it a better place. Whether it is in collection drives for various organizations, service projects or in leading classes. I look for areas that I feel will help and enrich the community where I live. I currently serve on a Board that helps with the educational outreach to schools who are wanting help in introducing and teaching Shakespeare to the students. We have had students from all over the State of Arizona come to our student shows where this may be their only opportunity to see a Shakespeare play and by coming will understand better the plays that they study in school.
