Hi I'm Mackay

I am a full time Missionary, a musician, a hunter, country boy at heart, and I am a Mormon!

About Me

I love to play my drums! I love to hunt, fish, hang with friends, and try to live life to its full potential! I love Missionary work and serve in the Oakland San Francisco Mission! Let's be friends!

Why I am a Mormon

As I gew up in my family, we always went to church. There were no questions asked, it's just what we did. As I grew up and started high school, waking up for church got harder and harder. I had to figure out if this was somthing worth waking up for. Thankfully, I have come to know of the truth of the LDS church. I realized that God has done so much for me through the years that the least I could do was follow his teachings and do what he asked of me. At the young age of eight, I was diagnosed with Plantar Fasciitis. This is a problem with the tendons in your feet. Doctors were stunned that I had this because they had never seen it in someone younger than thirty. But sure enough I had it, and it is something that I have to learn to live with. As I got older the pain became stronger and led to two major surgeries on both feet. As I went through this process, I could feel God's love for me the entire time. He got me through it and I am back on my feet prepared to serve my God in California!!! So why wouldn't I love God? After everything he has done and given me, the least I can do is dedicate my life to his work!

How I live my faith

I was first called to the Philippines Cebu Mission in November of 2011. As I started my work in the Philippines I fell in love with the people. They had so much love and were so humble. I found a lot of success with my two companions that I was lucky enough to serve with. Sadly after about a month of service I started to get really really sick. I noticed that I was loosing weight very quickly.. I was not able to keep any food down and nothing I or my doctor tried was helping. They told me that I had some how gotten a tape worm and that all I would have to do is take a pill and that everything would be fine! I took the pill and within a day or two started to feel a little better. That only lasted for a total of a week though and I was back to being super sick. The doctors on my island could not figure it out so i was finaly sent to Manila for better help. I found out that I had parasites and had caught Hep A! I lost 80 pounds in a month and a half before I was finally sent back home. I spent three very hard months at home, but through the help of friends and my amazing family I was able to recover and have returned to the field in California! This was a miracle because doctors told me that there was no chance of me returning. Heavenly father gave me a second chance and so i am living my faith and preaching the word to his children with the best of my abilities because he gave me the second chance! I love faith and I love this church. I owe God my life! Nothing else matters!

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Mackay
There are many ways that one can come to know our Father in Heaven. Look around you! Look at the earth and Gods creations. You also can literally talk to God. Through prayer, God listens to our joys, our goals, and our problems. He is always there to help you through lifes struggles and grow spiritually. Also, you can read of the tesimonies of special witnesses that we call apostles and prophets. As you read the scriptures and learn more, you will come to know for yourself that God does love us and that you truly can come to know him. Show more Show less
