Hi I'm Roger

I grew up in Utah, I'm a Father of four. I served a mission to Taiwan. I own a company that does business in China. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up the 7th of 10 children in a family which had hardworking, loving, and generous parents. My parents taught me well by both example and word. I have always love sports, especially basketball, I played in high school, and in college. Basketball gave me great opportunities to be involved with those of other faiths, and gave great opportunities to test and prove my own beliefs. I met wife in college and we shared the college experience together; we have 4 children. I currently own a business which manufactures products in China, and sells them mainly in the United States. I love visiting China, which I do 3-4 times per year. The country is fascinating and causes me to reflect of God's love for all mankind.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a faithful LDS family, and was baptized when I was eight. I grew up with a peaceful understanding and belief that Church was true. This very green testimony was enough to give me the desire to serve a mission, I went out of sense of duty, and didn't really have any great expectations that a mission would be a life changing event. I looked forward to it more as a travel adventure, than as a spiritual adventure. My mission gave me many opportunities to see first hand God's intervention in my life and the lives of the Taiwanese people we came in contact with. During this time I had experiences that helped me to better know God's plan for me. Later during college life, i continued to see God's hand in my life, and this has continued with the joys and trails of raising children even to the current day. I am a Mormon because when I reflect on the sum of these experiences i can not deny that I I know that God exists, that he knows me, and that from following the plan he has given to me through the Gospel of Jesus Christ that I am a better father, husband, friend, boss, student, and person. This is now be greatest wish for my children, I hope for them to have experience that will allow them to come to the same knowledge of God's wonderful plan for them, and that through following the gospel of Christ, they will be better in ALL aspects for their life.

How I live my faith

Each Sunday, I attend meetings with my family at the local building. Sometimes I have the opportunity to teach a group of men in our Priesthood meeting. As a family we have family prayer daily and try to read the scriptures as a family each evening. This is not always easy to do, and sometime not everyone is excited to participate, as it often interupts homework, or other activities, but it gives us a great opportunity for discussion and reflection. Finally, my wife serve in the local Mormon Temple assisting at the temple baptistry.
