Hi I'm Jennifer

I was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. I am a Husker fan, a home builder, a photographer, and a mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Nebraska girl who married a Nebraska boy!!! I love the rolling hills and miles of corn filled flatlands. I have have a passion for everything crafty and anything that helps me use my hands and my imagination. I am in my own element when I am creating. It can be paper crafting, building a house, sewing, or cooking...LOVE it all! Another passion of mine is photography. I own my own photography business and love my job everyday! I am a mom to a busy, busy boy. He is my light and my joy. I am so grateful to a sweet birthmother who chose us to adopt him and will always hold her near and dear to my heart. Without her love and sacrifice I would not have been blessed with such a wonderful little spirit. I hope and pray daily that we may have the opportunity to add more children to our home through the blessing of adoption.

Why I am a Mormon

When my parents were married they were very young. My mother was Mormon, and my father was Methodist. My father shortly after marrying my mother chose to join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and to raise their family in the Mormon faith. In the beginning I went to church because that is just what you do...follow in what your family does. As a Mormon youth I was strongly encouraged to seek a knowledge and understanding for myself about why I go to the church I go to. This is what I discovered...I am a Mormon because I know that my Savior Jesus Christ lives and loves us. I know that he suffered for us so that we can truly repent of our sins and be truly forgiven. Even perfected as he is. I know that I am a daughter of a loving God. I know that this is Christ's church and it is lead by a modern day prophet who receives revelation from God just like prophets of old. I know that if I live my life in accordance with the laws of God my family can be together forever. I can have eternal life with those who I love and not be parted by death. I know that by living my religion my family has been greatly blessed both temporally and spiritually. I have a peace and warmth in my heart with knowing that my Heavenly Father knows who am and is aware of my needs. I am so grateful for the continual teachings I receive at church to help me become a better person and to become closer to God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to be an example of Jesus Christ. However, I am not perfect by any means and am sure that I fall short often. I love the golden rule "Do unto others as you'd have others do unto you." I try to serve others and to share my talents with those around me. I currently work with the 8-9 year old girls at church. We do activities that help us all to learn to have 'Faith in God.' They have goals that they have to make and obtain that help them to learn and grow into young women and women of faith. We also do fun activities that help us to all be friends and encourage each other.
