Hi I'm Leah DeSpain

I've was born and raised in Gilbert, Arizona. I'm currently serving a mission in Puerto Rico. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've grown up and lived in the same area my entire life. I'm just finished up my freshmen year at ASU. I was a dancer and I participated in the colorguard in high school. I love to learn about other cultures and learning other languages. I'm the only girl out of 4 kids and I'm the second oldest.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church. The reason I continue on is because I love Christ and my Heavenly Father and I know that this is his church. I've tried to go on by myself, to be strong and capable of doing things on my own, but I found that I'm most self reliant, resilient, strong, and above all else, happy, when I am actively involved in this church and my relationship with God is strong. I've never felt so happy and strong as when I'm reading my scriptures and keeping the commandments, not just spiritually, but physically. I honestly cannot picture where my life would have taken me had I not had parents firm in the gospel to direct me, and a life guided by the light. A quote that I love is "There is no reason to be afraid of the shadows, that just means that there is light near by". For me that light is the gospel. And I want to hold on to that light so that I have no need to fear and so that others don't either.

How I live my faith

Attending church, praying, reading the scriptures and trying to love everyone.
