Hi I'm Hillary Lynn

I'm an artist, social work major, smootie addict, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My passion lies in helping those who've experienced the bumps and bruises of mortalilty, and help them recognize their worth; it's a privilege to come to know and love others. the human potential amazes me! Oregon is my happy place, and I enjoy spending as much of my time as possible outside hiking, camping, bouldering, and kayaking. Life is always at it's absolute best when I spend my time laughing with loved ones, and working with kids from hard places. My sanity savers include exercising my creative muscles, learning, reading, singing, teaching, listening, asking quetions, speaking in funny accents, and imitating awkward dinosaurs.

Why I am a Mormon

There was a time when I thought that God didn't exist. I thought that no Supreme Being could allow so much hurt and pain to exist in a world that He had created and "loved." After being forced to my knees and look for strength beyond my own, I read the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I asked my Heavenly Father in prayer if what I read was true. It took a while and it didn't come all at once, but as Theodore Roosevelt said, “Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, [and] difficulty . . ." Since then I have come to know for myself that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the Savior's restored Church on the earth today. Most of all, I KNOW my Savior lives, and that He loves me . . . and that brings me the most joy of all. The most powerful knowledge that I possess is that I am a child of God.

How I live my faith

Our Savior Jesus Christ said, “Learn of me, and listen to my words . . ." I do my best to learn of Him, follow his example, and share with others the joy that knowledge of His gospel has given me. I do this by trying to follow His example in word, thought, and especially the way I treat others. I'm not perfect at it, but I try to emulate the same love for those around me that Christ has for us.
