Hi I'm John Leavitt

I am a 3rd generation native of Mesa, Arizona. I was one of the owners of a successful business. I am a family man. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been Married for 30+years and have three children. I am an electronics technician and I was one of the owners of a successful business for over 15 years. I am very interested in woodworking. I make wooden pens and am branching out into cabinetry. My wife and I have put one of our children through college. The second one is currently in college and the third is going into High School. I enjoy traveling with my family. Mostly we go to Mexico or Disneyland. I enjoy woodworking.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family and during my youth I went to church because my parents took me to church every week. As I grew and learned about God and the Gospel I developed my own beliefs and testimony of Our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ. By following the teachings of the Church my wife and I have been able to raise 3 wonderful children and we have grown closer together. By following the teachings in James 1:5 and asking God to know the truth I have come to know that God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ do live. They love me as they love all of God's children. They know of the challanges and hardships that come my way and help me get through them if I remain faithful and do all that I can to overcome these challanges. Through study and prayer I have felt the Holy Ghost testify to my heart and soul that the Curch of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the same Church that Jesus organized during His ministry. It has been restored to the earth through a young Prophet named Joseph Smith. I know that the Lord still directs His church through living Prophets today.

How I live my faith

Because of the strong testimony that I developed through study, prayer and living the Gospel I cannot sit idly by. At the age of 19 years old I served a full time mission in Argentina teaching and bringing others the blessings of the Gospel. I have been a Sunday School teacher. As part of my current assignment I with a youth organization which helps parents teach thier young children between the ages of 3 and 11 years old. I am also involved in the Cub Scouts. I am also involed in training and teaching some of the local Priesthood leaders.

What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?

John Leavitt
Before coming to this earth we all lived as spirit children of God our Heavenly Father. Just as we lived before coming to this earth our spirit continues to live after we die. Death is a necessary step in our progression. I think of death as a graduation from this life. I know that my spirit will continue until the resurrection which was made possible by the the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. To be resurrected means that our body and spirit will be re-united and be inseperable for eternity. This resurrection will come to all who have ever lived on the earth. Show more Show less
