Hi I'm Jen

I'm a sister, a friend, an educator and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love learning about the world around me. I think that’s one of the reasons I chose to become an educator. I teach in a public elementary school and focus on students with behavior problems as a school psychologist. This last winter I even taught children how to ski! It is always a fun challenge to teach people about the things that I love to do. I love skiing, cycling, the piano and being in the great outdoors. I’ve spent my summers traveling, volunteering with church groups or humanitarian organizations and live for the freedom of the summer months! The best times are spent with my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

That’s like asking why I am happy! I’m happy because I’m a Mormon. My understanding of Heavenly Father’s plan for me and all of us help me happily face the challenges in day to day life and make exciting plans for the future. I’m a Mormon because the same church that existed when Christ was on the earth was restored to Joseph Smith and people started sharing the gospel with everyone they knew. Eventually my ancestors heard about it and joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have grown to know the church is true for myself through studying the Book of Mormon and prayer. I have a personal relationship with my Heavenly Father and know that He loves me.

How I live my faith

Being a Mormon to me means actively serving in my congregation and supporting and loving those around me who are not actively participating in the church or those who are not members. I love serving the youth and helping them realize who they are, their divine potential and the blessings of living a virtuous life. I have volunteered in many service events for those with special needs, cleaning the community in my area and visiting sisters in my congregation. I attend a weekly institute class to learn about the scriptures and I feel strength from meeting with other young single adults in the middle of my week. I even attend a Family Home Evening on Monday nights with other young single adults. We meet together so that we are in this habit when we have families of our own in the future. Being a Mormon and single is great! When it is so easy to feel alone and single in such a large world I find strength and am loved and supported when I am with other Mormons. I am a member of The Relief Society, which is the worldwide women’s organization that offers relief, strengthens homes and families and teaches how to increase personal righteousness. I love teaching about Jesus Christ and I have grown to love Him as my Savior.
