Hi I'm Wesley N. Schaefermeyer

I am a student. I am an Electrical Engineer. I am married. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am going to Utah State University, and I'm Studying Electrical Engineering. I have always wanted to be an engineer since I was little; I thought building things was the best! I play the piano and write small pieces of music that I share with my family. I also like movies, soccer, frisbee, and video games.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I love the Lord. This is His church and this is where he wants me to be. While I was serving an LDS mission to Piura, Peru, I was struggling with my own testimony of the gospel and the Book of Mormon. It was promised to everyone that read the book would receive a testimony if they just ask with faith. I felt that i should put that promise to the test. I read the Book of Mormon cover-to-cover, then I asked Heavenly Father if it was true. I received my own personal witness that the book was true. I then realized that everything I believed hinged around the truthfulness of that book: our claim to the priesthood, our claim to prophets and apostles in this day and age, our claim to revelation both personal and collectively from our church leaders. I realized that God does speak to us and cares about us; the Book of Mormon is proof of ALL of this. This is how I know that I am where God wants me to be because He let me know. He will let each of us know if we just ask.

How I live my faith

I do not always know the answer to life's hard questions, neither do I live perfectly. I do know that by following the Savior's example, I can overcome life's challenges. I believe that through Him, all things are possible, even balancing school and my family. I strive everyday to serve my wife. I have found in my short time being married that selfishness cannot exist in a happy life. I have sacrificed a lot so that we can have a happy time together. I live my faith by putting her needs before mine and allowing the Lord to guide our marriage. We read the scriptures every night together as a couple. This routine has blessed both of us and our marriage. Our love for each other flows in our home. You can feel it when you walk in the door. Sure, we have had our disagreements and arguments, but reading the scriptures together has helped us overcome some hard times.
