Hi I'm Alina

Music is my life and I am so fortunate to major in it! I love singing, playing guitar and piano and writing music.

About Me

I go to college in Idaho and work during the summers. Currently I am preparing to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in France. I am the third oldest of nine kids and I have always loved being a big sister. When I'm not in school or working or at home with my siblings I am usually out with friends. I am totally a social butterfly! Music is totally my life! I love listening to it, performing it or writing it. I am always singing no matter where I am or what I'm doing.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church. I have been fortunate to have the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ all my life. My parents taught me from a very young age to pray and read my scriptures and go to church. I have been led by their example, which I am grateful for. I think the first time I remember feeling and recognizing the spirit was when I was baptized. At age eight I came up out of the water and felt, without a doubt, the bright warmth encircle me. I knew that Heavenly Father was happy with me and lovingly approved of my decision to join his church. I can't pinpoint my conversion to a particular event, but I can recall numerous times when I felt that same warmth and approval, or times when I felt Heavenly Father's comfort. I believe that one of the most beautiful messages of this church is one of repentance and love. We are all children of God, a God who loves us perfectly in spite of our mistakes, and he wants us all back. Through the atonement of Jesus Christ we can all return to live with our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

As a 16 year old girl, I have held numerous callings in class presidencies as a counselor, a secretary and even a president in the young woman's organization for 12-18 year old girls. I attend church every week, and seminary every morning before school. I try to be a good daughter and a kind older sister so that my younger siblings will have a good example to look up to.

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

Modesty and Chasity are both about treating your body like a divine gift from Heavenly Father. When we dress modestly and are chaste, we are showing respect and appreciation for Heavenly Father and what he has given us and we are also showing Heavenly Father we know who we are and we respect ourselves. I think the best way to teach children about these two principals is to help them understand how important and beautiful our bodies are, and how immodesty and being unchaste is defiling that beauty. Heavenly Father loves us and he wants what is best for us. He knows that we will be happiest if we respect ourselves by dressing modestly and remaining chaste. Show more Show less
