Hi I'm Diane

I am a wife, mother and grandmother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to a wonderful man, and have 6 children, 2 of which still live at home. My youngest is in high school, 4 children are married, we have 11 grandchildren with our 12th grandbaby due soon. They are scattered around the country, and I miss them! We also have a Springer Spaniel named Sadie. I am currently working full time during the week, but love being home! When I have spare time, I love to read, especially fiction and historical novels, sew fun things for my grandkids, and make baby quilts. I love to be creative, and have loved painting and ceramics in the past. I enjoy cooking, baking, and trying new things. I also enjoy the mountains and the outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because as I attended church with my convert parents as a child, it always felt right. I always felt a peace and calmness there. Then in my teenage years, I read and studied, and prayed to know for myself if the things I read in the Book of Mormon, and if the things that I was being taught were true. By the power of the Holy Ghost, I felt an overwhelming feeling of love and peace come over me, and I knew that it was true, and that the path I was on was right. Since that time, I have had many confirmations yet again that this gospel, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and His church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is truly the restored church of our Savior Jesus Christ here on the earth today. I know that we have a living prophet, President Thomas S. Monson, and living apostles today as well, who direct this church under the guidance of the Savior. The plan of happiness is truly that-a plan to live happily here on the earth, and prepare to return to live with our Savior Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father again. This does not mean that my life is always easy, but it does mean that by following the commandments and teachings of the Savior, and by listening to the direction of the prophet, I am able to weather through life’s trials with faith and hope. The church, through it's organizaiton and gospel teachings has given me a firm foundation on which my husband and I have been able to raise our children in a troubled world. Through scripture study and prayer, I receive peace, comfort, and direction on how to proceed with my life, and how to find joy as I do so.

How I live my faith

I have had opportunity to serve others in many different capacities over the years. I am currently teaching the 10 year olds about the Savior and we are learning about His life and teachings. The children are wonderful! I enjoy being with them each Sunday, hearing about each of their weeks, and then studying the examples of the Savior with them. I also love to go "visiting teaching" which is a responsibility I have to get to know a couple of other women and to bring them an uplifting gospel message each month. I visit them with another woman, and offer friendship, and also service in times of need, such as during times of illness, a new baby, or when a listening ear is needed.
