Hi I'm Robyn

I'm a nurse. I'm a mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have no amazing successes, nothing that has brought me fame or fortune to report. But, I am grateful for my sweet family and the little joys I get to experience each day. Although I grew up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, I now live in the flat expanse of the Midwest. I miss the ocean and the mountains deeply. But, I have come to love the lightening storms and sunsets that decorate the huge sky of the Midwest. The rolling hills full of carefully ordered rows of corn extending as far as I can see, are amazing to me. I graduated with a BS in Nursing and have worked as an RN in Intesive Care Units and Transplant Units. Currently, I work on an Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplant unit. I am grateful that I can help people in what can be a time of deep need or difficulty. I cry with my patients and their families in their losses and in their celebrations. My most prized possession is my family. My husband and I have been married almost 25 years. We have 7 really great children. My life revolves around my children and their many and varied adventures. I watch my children catch butterflies, learn to read, play soccer, ride horses, perform in choirs and competitions, skin thier knees, struggle in Spanish class, go off to college (and make the Dean's list), march in band, build huge bug habitats, and giggle together. What a full and beautiful life it is.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a home where the principles and doctrines of the Gospel of Christ were taught. I was baptized when I was eight years old. But, I am not a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because my family expected it. No, I am a Mormon because I have a personal testimony of Jesus Christ. I have prayed and I have received answers to my prayers. I know that Jesus Christ lives. I know that my Father in Heaven lives and loves me. I know that through the Atonement of Jesus Christ I can return to live eternally with my Father in Heaven. I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ and His plan for our salvation an happiness were restored throught the Prophet Joseph Smith and that Jesus Christ continues to guide this church today through a living prophet. I I'm a Mormon because I received a personal witness from God that this church is His true and living church.

How I live my faith

I hope that my actions in my everyday life answer this question clearly enough. I hope that the choices I make and the way I treat others reflect my love for my Savior and my dedication to His work. I live my faith by trying to be like Jesus. I have a long way to go, but that is my goal.
