Hi I'm Nancy

I grew up in northern California. I currently have my own financial planning practice. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

i was married for fifteen years and had five children. When that marriage ended, I raised the five children on my own. We really like Disneyland. Due to an injury that occurred, I became self-employed so I had control of the hours I could work. We were very blessed during the years. Today I have grandchildren. I enjoy time with my family. I also like to be outdoors doing activities like hiking and swimming. I go to the gym (including strength training and Zumba), enjoy dancing and continue to take a class. I think it's nice to visit or travel to a new place as opportunity permits.

Why I am a Mormon

I was a very active member of my Protestant faith when a youth. I participated in Young Life and went to one of their camps. A friend of mine started a youth choir at our church so I was one of the first members and active in the youth programs. I learned about the gospel first while in high school from friends. I studied and prayed The Bible testifies of the points to look for to know the Lord's church.. After I graduated from hIgh school, I was baptized a member of the church while college. i found the Institute of Religion classes very inspiring. Family members and Protestants wondered about my choice. I felt very strongly in my heart a witness that The Book of Mormon was also a book of scripture from the ancient American peoples just as the Bible was scripture from Israel.. I wondered about Joseph Smith's story because since the Spirit had witnessed the Truth of the Book of Mormon, then what of Joseph Smith? I knew only two people knew if Joseph's story were true-Joseph and God, and Joseph was dead, so I asked God. When the answer came it was in an unexpected time and place, but the answer truly was from the Lord and has stayed with me-that our Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ did indeed visit Joseph. Finally, i felt the Holy Ghost testify of these truths. I sincerely desired the Holy Ghost to be with me all the time, not sometimes-I desired the Gift of the Holy Ghost and am so grateful today for this precious gift, the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost. I know this must be the Lord's true church., His gospel restore through this constant companionship of the Holy Ghost, which I never had before.

How I live my faith

I begin each day with prayer and scripture reading. Each day I look for at least one act of kindness I can do for someone, whether at or through work, or in m personal time. With a neighbor, we visit one elderly neighbor and a kind lady who has severely disabled children. I also participate in the singles group. We plan activities for other single people, such as a dinner get together Personally, I do my best to live in a temperate, morally upright life as admonished in the New Testament-trying not to get mad, eating properly, avoiding any harmful substances. I feel like my body is a temple, bought with a price, the blood of the Lord, so i want to take care of my body I also look for ways to help my family. My mother is here and she is getting older, so when she needs rides for medical reasons, I leave work to help out. I also help my children in whatever way seems appropriate and by their invitation or suggestion.
