Hi I'm Randy

I live in San Antonio and work as a Financial Analyst. I enjoy working out, going skiing and camping with my family. I am Mormon.

About Me

First and foremost I am a husband and dad. I enjoy spending time with my wife and kids. Some of my favorite memories are camping and going to amusement parks with them. I also enjoy reading and staying physically fit. I am an Eagle Scout and speak Spanish. I have an MBA and work as a Financial Analyst.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church. When I turned 18 and went to college I wanted to know for myself if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-days Saints is true. I specifically wanted to know if the Book of Mormon is true. If that book of scripture is true, then Joseph Smith is a true prophet. If Joseph Smith is a true prophet, then it would logically follow that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-days Saints is the only true Church and has all the revealed truth. As part of my quest for truth, I decided to read the Book of Mormon and pray and ask God if it is a true book of scripture written by ancient prophets that lived here in the Americas. I had faith that God would answer my prayer because I knew that God loves all of his children and answers our sincere prayers. I prayed with real intent and after I prayed I had a strong feeling of peace come over me, I felt in my heart the Book of Mormon really was true! This witness that the book is true has been confirmed to me over and over again as I have studied it. This Gospel has brought me much peace and joy. I know that the Church is true and I'm so thankful to be a member.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to do the things God has asked me to do. He loves us and has given us commandments to bless us. If we follow his commandments, we will be happy. Some of the things I do to live my faith are having fun and spending time with my family, reading scriptures and going to Church. Every Monday night we dedicate that time to teach one another the gospel and play games. Each person in the family takes a turn participating in the planning, conducting and teaching. It has really strengthened our family and we love spending that time together. I also live my faith by serving those around me. One way I serve is by accepting callings, or assignments within our congregation. The Church does not compensate for this service, but we do receive blessings from God. I have had the opportunity to be a leader of the young men, and older men as well. My favorite calling has been with the youth. Helping them plan worthwhile activities that strengthen their faith in God and increase their desires to serve others and live honest good lives.
