Hi I'm Brittney

I grew up in Phoenix, AZ. I love to play sports. I played volleyball at Southern Utah University. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Arizona and have played sports since I was 8 years old. I started played soccer at a very young age. After choosing not to play on Sundays I was asked to leave the team. At this point I decided to tryout for a traveling volleyball team. I have played volleyball since I was in 7th grade. I have also enjoyed going to school and constantly learning new material. As my high school years went on my faith in Jesus Christ was tested by others around me. As I chose to make good decisions I was blessed. After high school I went to a local community college where I received All-American awards and was given an opportunity to play Division 1 volleyball. After finishing up my degree in Physical Education I returned home to do my student teaching at the high school I graduated from. I now coach volleyball and track. I love working with student/athlete because it is a great way to help positively influence the future generation.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents that were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. While growing up I was able to attend primary with other children my same age and learn about our savior Jesus Christ. I learned from a young age the importance of praying to our Father in Heaven to communicate with him in all that I do. My faith in my Savior began to grow at a young age and I was able to learn more through years of church attendance. While in high school I was able to attend seminary where we learned more about the scriptures. It is there that I gained a testimony of our Father in Heaven and older brother Jesus Christ. I gained a testimony of the Book of Mormon. I know that it is true. I have prayed and felt the spirit testify to me that it is true. It has blessed my life so much. Because of the Book of Mormon, I know that there is a purpose to life. I know that we were brought here to this earth and given the ability to choose right from wrong. If we live righteously and use the atonement, we can be forgive of our sins. I know that the only way to return to live with our Father in Heaven is through the atonement of Jesus Christ. I am so grateful to have the knowledge that I have.

How I live my faith

For the past few years I have worked with the youth and children in the community. I have helped them learn not only to get a stronger body but helped them to increase their knowledge of our Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ. The athletes that I worked with have been great examples to me in my life. I have also worked a lot in the primary program (with the children) within the church. Most recently I worked with the kids turning eight years old. It was a great experience. We were constantly teaching and learning each other. It was a great experience getting to work with these young children every Sunday during church.
