Hi I'm Tom

I grew up in Sierra Nevada's and I've lived in Washington now for the past 26 years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband of almost 35 years. I have two adopted children whom I admire greatly. I currently have 5 grandchildren with the sixth due any day now. I love to hunt and fish and hope to take my grandchildren fishing often before their interests take them elsewhere. I've been in the Aerospace parts manufacturing industry for the past 23 years in program & project management and sales.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessing to have grown up as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints since a child. My mother was faithful in helping me understand the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. My father was not baptized until I was in my early teens however we spent every spare moment together hiking and fishing the lakes and streams in the mountains. Dad and I also joined the Boy Scouts together when I turned 11. Even with 20 other boys, he and I spent a lot of time in the mountains.

How I live my faith

I served a mission to the people of Brazil in 1970 to 1972. It was there that my faith truly became cemented and firm. I had many marvelous experiences with the wonderful people of Brazil. Since then, I have been fortunate to be able to give service through home teaching and other callings in the Church without interruption. I have always found joy and satisfaction in serving my Heavenly Father and others by being faithful and active in my Church. Most of my service has been to the youth of the Church in one capacity or another. That said, I would mention that I have been registered with the Boy Scouts of America for about 43 years. I was a Wood Badge trainer for nearly 10 years at one point in time. I know with every fiber of my being that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth and that His Church has been organized upon the earth again with prophets and apostles! I can say to anyone that the Book of Mormon is the word of God because I have read it and prayed about the doctrine therein and the spirit of the Holy Ghost has answered my prayers to confirm these things. I know that my Savior lives and He is the Son of God. We are all sons and daughters of a loving Heavenly Father, the most high God. Lastly, gospel helps me be a better person, a better husband, father and now grandfather. I know that families are forever. This is an eternal truth. We can all live with our Father in Heaven again if we but keep his commandments.
