Hi I'm Anne

I am a wife and the mother of 6 incredible children. I love being a grandma to my 2 grandchildren. I am a Mormon

About Me

After raising 6 children it seems so quiet with only one child left at home! With our older children spread out it can be a challenge to keep in touch with everyone and get to know our grandchildren. I have a great husband and we love our family. A few things I enjoy are music, art, quilt making, flowers and baking. I keep planting tomato plants but rarely get any tomatoes...and I can't figure out why. Life is not always easy but is always good.

Why I am a Mormon

My family has been members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for generations. Even with that, I still had to find out for myself. I studied and prayed to know if Joseph Smith truly saw the Father and the Son...and if it was all true. I felt a warm feeling and thoughts flooded into my mind assuring me that the prophet Joseph was called of God - even to the sealing of his testimony with his life. I know that the restored gospel of Jesus Christ is the source of truths that our Heavenly Father wants us to have as we live on this earth. I want to live with my Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ again someday. Feeling the Spirit in my life is a like a taste of being "home" with them. I know that the light of Christ will never leave me as long as I try to follow Him. There is nothing God would ask of me that would not be worth the blessing we have been promised. I want my family to be together forever and try to live each day with that eternal perspective. This is a tough world in which to raise a family. I am so thankful that I do not have to search for values in a sea of shifting information and trends. The Gospel of Christ is constant -something to hang on to.

How I live my faith

It is really important to be involved in the community so my husband and I have made it a point to be involved at the schools and he has coached many teams over the years.I sing in our community choir. at church I play the organ in our Sacrament meetings. I play the piano for the Primary (youth 3 to 12) meetings and for choir. I am not good at the organ foot pedals but I am improving! Using my talents to bless others brings me a lot of satisfaction . Twice a month I am a staff member in the Family History Library at the church. If people come in I help them trace their ancestors. If no one comes in I work on mine! Twice a month in the evenings I get to teach a vivacious group of young girls ( ages 8 to 12) as they earn their "Faith In God" award. They are lots of fun and I am exhausted afterwards. I go out with my Visiting Teaching partner monthly to check on 4 or 5 women in the community who are members of our church. Many of them don't get to church so we see if they are OK and if we can do anything for them. We have gotten to be good friends. There are so many great things going on in my life I don't have time for anything negative.
