Hi I'm Anna

I'm half Vietnamese, a straight "A" student. I love peanut-butter-pickle sandwiches, computers, laughing, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I’m a freshman in high school. I take Spanish, Honors English, Honors Biology, Geometry, Computer Programming, and Graphic Design classes. I love to paint and draw (flaming flowers and dragons), make campfires, cook (I bake the best lemon bars), sew (my styles considered….different), play the piano, and sing. I use soldering equipment to make my own jewelry and trinkets. I’m almost as good at fixing things as I am at breaking them. I can convert numbers into Binary, Octal, and Hexadecimal sequences. I watch Mythbusters, and Wipeout. My favorite movies include Inception, the Home Alone series, Night at the Museum 1 and 2, Spy kids, Kung Fu Panda, and Despicable Me. I love to read and write. My favorite books include Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Magyk (and yes, I did spell the title right), Sherlock Holmes, The Billionaires Curse, and Anthem. I listen to Iridescent by Linkin Park, Owl City and Simple Plan. According to my friends, I laugh at EVERYTHING, including myself. I tease people and tell jokes. I can hit a target with a compound bow at 40 feet, but can’t understand football beyond spelling the name. I have a younger sister and younger brother. When I finish high school, I’m going to go to college, and start a career as an architect or software designer. I’m quirky, and 100% me.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother grew up a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My father moved to America from Vietnam at the age of 24, and was converted at the age of 27. I’m a Mormon because I’ve grown up as a Mormon. But more importantly, I’m a Mormon because I believe in the gospel, which is the word of God, and know for myself, that this is the true church of Christ. I know that my Heavenly Father lives and loves me. I know that he sent his Son here to earth, to die for me, that I might be saved in the last days. I know that through temple covenants, my family here is forever. I love the Lord and know that by following his commandments and living a righteous and fulfilling life, I can change the world and live again with him and my loved ones for eternity.

How I live my faith

I live the gospel by attending church meetings and supporting youth activities. I’m not afraid to live my standards, despite what others around me are doing. All my friends know I’m Mormon, and respect me for my beliefs. They don’t swear, take the Lords name in vain, gossip, or discuss inappropriate things because of the standards I’ve set, and have more than once been thankful when I’ve asked others to do the same around us. I’ve done service with the youth at church, including cleaning people’s homes and yards, and even schools. We’ve weeded and pruned and planted plants at community parks and recreational areas. We’ve made care packages for those in need, and tied blankets and made cards for the sick and afflicted. I’ve donated food, clothing, and toys to shelters. I try to help those I see who are in need, and uplift the people around me. I know that when I’m in the service of those around me, I’m in the service of my Heavenly Father above.
