Hi I'm Vernon Jex

I grew up in Moraga, Californa. I am a physical therapist who loves orthopedics. I'm a Mormon

About Me

As a father of two sets of twins, life currently revolves around my three sons and one daughter. Days are filled with aiding them in their homework, attending their sporting activities, practicing piano, or doing activities as a family. Through all the business of our lives, we still manage to have sanity in hour home. Working as a physical therapist, I have the opportunity to help people return to the "playing field" of life. To see the happiness that comes with either a resolution of my patient's symptoms, or a return to their prior levels of function is my reward for working in this proffession. My interests have always been activities that involve the outdoors. Boogie Boarding and skiing are my alltime favorites!!! However, the beach and the mountains are not always close to home; so swimming, lifting weights and biking bring day to day recreation. My wife and I have been married for over 15 years. I would not want to live my life any other way than in the organization and unit of a family. It is my family that brings the most joy, and sometimes the greatest challenges. Through it all however, life with a loving spouse and children are what matter most to me.

Why I am a Mormon

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints, I choose to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. It is in following Christ's teachings that truly bring the most fulfillment, joy and satisfaction to my life. Knowing that family relationships can last forever brings a rich meaning to not only this life, but what awaits for us in the next. I am a Mormon because the teachings provided by the church are clear, and just plain make sense to me. Through many of life's experiences, I have found that application of the doctrines contained in the Mormon faith truly bring happiness that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. It is in following the teachings of Jesus Christ which ultimately helps me to become who He wants me to be. Though I fall short may times, it's comforting to know that one can improve, change, and continually be loved by the Lord. I am a Mormon because of the witness that has come to me through the Lord's spirit, even the Holy Ghost. It is something that is not known intellectually, but through the feelings in one's heart that as confirmed to me the truthfullness of Christ's gospel. It is a great comfort to know that God continues to speak to his children on earth. He does this through answering our prayers. Our Heavenly Father also does this through speaking to his prophets on earth. I know we have a prophet on earth today. He now leads the Church of Jesus Christ under the direction of the Savior Himself. It is of great comfort to know that Heavenly Father loves his children enough to continue to guide and direct us through individuals called of God. Thsese a few reasons why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I currently serve in a council that presides over eight congregations in our area of residence. It is on this council that ideas are shared regarding the improvement of members in the regions. This council also serves in making decisions about who should work/serve in certain positions of leadership. Serving on this council has truly opened my eyes to the wonder of making decisions in a united fashion. There is no disharmony or rancor when the council meets. Rather, there is a spirit of love and unity that prevails as ideas are discussed. Part of my responsibility is to facilitate individuals who preside over the Sunday School of the eight congregations. I also act as a support to a local Bishop who serves in a lay position over his congregation. Through all of these responsibilities, there is great joy that comes in working with, and serving Heavenly Father's children.
