Hi I'm Tyler T.

I'm a volunteer coach for my children's sports teams. My family is my hobby. I'm a teacher. I'm a Mormon! Check it out!

About Me

The best titles I've ever had in my life are "Dad" and "Husband." My wife and I love playing with our kids and teaching them about Jesus Christ and His restored gospel. I'm a regular guy who grew up in Austin, Texas, played sports in high school, and enjoyed hanging out with my friends. I attended BYU and made some more friends. I was a missionary for the LDS Church in Leeds, England and loved it! When I got back to BYU, I met my sweetheart and we got married. We're now the proud parents of 5 girls and 1 boy. Our family loves camping, especially in the mountains of Canada! "Coach" is another name I answer to - not because of my skills, but because of my love to serve others and be with our kids. Being part of the community through sports is great. The chance to serve the children on these teams is an awesome privilege. It's very rewarding to see their excitement as they improve and grow in their abilities and teamwork.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because God answers prayers. It's a fantastic story about God and His son, Jesus Christ, appearing to a young man who was seeking truth. If God spoke to His people in Bible times, why would He not do the same now? The fantastic story continues as Joseph Smith received gold plates, translated them into The Book of Mormon, and was called by God, not by man or by himself, to be a prophet - a testifier of God's Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ. One early reader of The Book of Mormon said “That book was either written by God or the devil, and I am going to find out who wrote it.” His conclusion was that the devil could not have written it, so it must have come from God. My conclusion is the same. After reading and praying about The Book of Mormon (Moroni 10:3-5), the same Holy Spirit that Jesus said would teach us all things (John 14:26) pricked my heart (Acts 2:37) and told me the book was true and that Joseph Smith was an instrument in the hands of God to restore truth to the earth. This is as true as the rising of the sun each morning!

How I live my faith

My wife and I try our best to teach truth to our children. Praying and reading the scriptures as a family, and spending good-ole quality time together are important ways that my wife and I try to show our children that we love Jesus Christ and strive to follow His example. Everyday God gives us the opportunity to serve. Looking for those opportunities is my responsibility. Knowing of God and Christ's love for me gives me hope. I try to follow the promptings of the Holy Spirit every day and give thanks for all the blessings They have given my family and me. I have recently been given the opportunity to work for the Mormon Church as a religion instructor. I get to share my testimony on a regular basis that Jesus is the Christ. He is the only way back to our Father in Heaven. Salvation comes through Christ, and no other way.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Tyler T.
We can come to know our Father in Heaven by following the steps He gives us in the scriptures. Following these steps is like following a business plan. When you follow a business plan you hope to have a successful outcome. When you follow God's plan to know Him, you will have a successful outcome if your desires are pure. All He asks us to do is to study His word, obey His commandments, and to pray to Him. He will answer your prayers, as He has answered mine, with happy, peaceful feelings of joy through the Holy Spirit. Show more Show less
