Hi I'm Chris

I grew up in Tremonton, Utah. I'm a sports fan and love to play sports. I'm a CPA by profession. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband, father and grandfather. We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary this year and we especially enjoy time with our children and grandchildren. I played high school football, basketball and baseball. Other hobbies include golfing, fishing, tennis, ping pong and singing. My profession is a CPA in industry for a general contractor.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born into an LDS family, I still had to make my own decision on what faith to follow. My parents taught me the basics about God as a child but I was a teenager before I really started to ask sincere questions about religion. I started to study and pray about the Bible and the Book of Mormon which taught about Jesus Christ as the Savior and Redeemer of the world. As I tried to apply the teachings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I felt better inside and closer to God. Since this time, my faith and spirituality has grown. I had the opportunity to serve as a full-time missionary for the church in Munich, Germany and this changed my life signficantly. I realized that Heavenly Father speaks to our hearts through his spirit and confirms truth. I have come to know through this spirit that God lives, Jesus is the Christ our Savior and Redeemer, that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God and that the Lord speaks to the Prophet, President Thomas S. Monson today. I'm so grateful to have this practical religion in my life and hope to share this with others.

How I live my faith

My faith is an active not passive religion. Members are expected to love and serve each other. This blessing to serve has greatly enriched my life. I've served in many positions in the church such as teaching little children in the nursery, or older children in Primary along with working with the youth ages 12 to 19. I currently serve as a bishop of a congregation of approximately 450 members. A bishop is a spiritual leader for all members in the congregation along with the responsibility to search out the poor and needy in and outside the church within the congregaton boundaries. This service is a serious responsibility and blessing in our family. I'm not paid by the church but the Lord blesses me with the joy that comes from helping those in need.
